THERE were some new faces, both visiting and exhibiting, when Minehead and District Birdkeepers Society held its annual show on Saturday in Alcombe Village Hall.

Local man Vic Rich (pictured right) took the top awards, gaining best in show, best canary and best Border canary.

Other winners were: J Chillingworth, best novice Border canary; D Ganfield, best Fife canary and best Lizard canary; P Fewings, best Norwich canary; A Potts, best Gloster canary; G Pegrum, best coloured canary; M Neale, best Hoso canary. B Major, best budgerigar; P Burden, best foreign bird and Bengalese finch; B Warmington, best Java sparrow and Irish canary. The best British bird was a redpoll. 

The society would like to thank everyone who exhibited and visited the show and local traders for their continued support.
