MEMBERS of Minehead Bowling Club made the most of the glorious spring weather and kicked off their 2014 season with a very seasonal display of Easter bonnets. Bowls players put their artistic skills to good use to craft an assortment of bunny and chick-themed titfers - and helped to raise money for St Margaret's Somerset Hospice in the process. The bonnet parade took place at the start of the annual greenkeeper's open day, which also saw members presenting a cheque for £110 to hospice representative Christine Slade. Head greenkeeper Ken Powls said club members could look forward to a very busy programme of up to 200 matches at the Irnham Road club in the forthcoming months.
