Santa Claus made his annual Christmas Eve visit to Watchet, touring the streets on his sleigh, accompanied by Watchet Carnival Queen Natasha Fisher and her attendant Ellie-May Puttick.

He was greeted by excited and happy crowds of people young and old and said how grateful he was to everyone who came out to see him, for the food and refreshments during the journey and the seasonal good wishes he received.

The money generously donated to him and his team of his helpers will be distributed amongst children’s organisations in the town.

During the tour, Santa presented the trophies and prizes for Watchet Live’s annual illuminations competition. As always, the judges had great dif?culty in deciding the winners from impressively decorated houses and shops, and thanks went to all who helped to make the town glow over the festive period.
