Carhampton public house reopened as four generations of family return to rootsIt brought the total funds raised by the fete, run by the Coleridge Committee, to £63,379 since it was first held in 1990.
Old-fashioned games were, as usual, much loved by adults and children alike and the raffles and stalls were well supported.
Coleridge Committee chairman Maggie Pumphrey said: “Of course, we could not run this fete without the help of so many people. Setting up takes two days and our volunteers work very hard indeed. People on the day are kept very busy and then there is the clearing away afterwards.
“We were supported by local businesses and many people provided cakes and produce, bottles etc, all of which are crucial to the success of this annual event.”
Macmillan is a charity that has grown over the years by necessity as more and more families are affected by cancer and all the money raised by the Coleridge Committee is used to provide Macmillan services in Somerset.
