Council shows Minehead social housing has gone to 'locals' and not migrantsThe traditional barn dance run by Dunster Buttercross Community Orchard was set to be called off this year after the organisers failed to find a suitable barn.
Two previous venues were unavailable, but now Dunster Tithe Barn has come to the rescue and the dance will go ahead next Saturday (September 14) to raise funds for the orchard and Dunster First School.
“It’s very difficult nowadays to find a traditional barn,” said community orchard chairman Doug Challoner.
“The last thing we wanted was to cancel this very popular event and we were delighted when we were offered the Tithe Barn, which will be an ideal venue.”
With music from the Quantock Quarenders, the barn dance starts at 7pm. Food, a licensed bar and parking will be available.
