THE 200 years since Minehead Baptist Church was established in 1817 is to be marked with a walk on Saturday (March 18).
Members and supporters will be walking together from the original site of the church in Periton to the current building in Parks Lane.
All are welcome to join in the walk which will start at 3pm and to celebrate afterwards at the church with a short service and refreshments.
A special 200th Birthday Book highlighting the church’s history has been printed and will be handed out to those who attend the walk and at various events throughout the year.
Minister Tim Langdon, who attended the church in his childhood and has been minister here for seven years, said: “I have a special affection for the church and for the community of Minehead.
“Two hundred years of faith and service is a big milestone for Minehead Baptist Church … and it will be great to connect with as many people as possible as we celebrate.”
The church office can be contacted on 01643 709764.
