A COMMUNITY care worker has been honoured for her success in rolling out a dementia pilot project across West Somerset.

Netta Hunt, manager of Somerset Care's West Somerset Community Services, was awarded the not- for-profit-company's Harry Patch Award at a special presentation in Taunton.

The award, named after the World War One veteran Harry Patch who was a resident in a Somerset Care home at the time of his death, was shared with fellow manager Sue Steeds from Frome.

Netta, who is based in Minehead, received a Bristol Blue glass bowl in recognition of her achievements with the PETALs project.

She was said to have worked tirelessly in the roll-out and development of the scheme.

Somerset Care chief executive Alyson Martin said: "Sue and Netta are both exceptional managers and we are proud to be able to recognise their achievements through this award."
