Twenty works of art celebrating Dulverton’s weir and leat are on display in the leat itself and in shop windows around the town until July 31.

The woodcuts, sculptures and paintings in Dulverton Weir and Leat Conservation Trust’s Art and Kinetic Sculpture Exhibition bring small bursts of unexpected culture and knowledge directly to people at specific sites.

This year, the trust has joined Oxford University School of Archaeology in its UK-wide public engagement with research project The Ripple Effect: Noticing Rivers Past and Present.

The school’s artist-in-residence Miranda Creswell has 11 works of art on display around the UK – including her Dulverton installation entitled ‘Sun on Your Back’.

The painting on silk is displayed next to a former old silk mill and is inspired by Miranda’s experiences of wild swimming.

Guides to the exhibition are on hand from dispensers throughout the town.
