Do not despair, Mr Davies (Letters December 8) – Arthur C Clarke has certainly not been neglected by your local museum.

Last season, March to October, we had a display commemorating the centenary of his birth, and next season this display will be enlarged to fit in with our new theme “Minehead on the move”.

Only recently, photos have come to light showing Arthur C Clarke being presented with a plaque and a scroll on behalf of Minehead Town Council – this presentation took place in Sri Lanka on the occasion of a visit to the island by a group from our local Rotary Club.

These photos will be included in the enlarged display, as will articles about his prescience in accurately predicting so many scientific developments that are commonplace today.
