AS Somerset's cider-makers battle for survival, West Somerset residents have been doing their bit to promote the humble apple.
They joined people nationwide to mark Apple Day on Saturday and once again villagers in Carhampton pulled out all the stops.
They marked the day with exhibitions, displays, old photographs, a treasure hunt and apple-related games for both adults and children.
There were also competitions with prizes for the best dessert apples, cooking apples and even the heaviest apple.
