PLANS to create a £90,000 bicycle pump track in Minehead are being re-thought by the community interest company behind the initiative.
The group wanted to put it at Culvercliffe, near Minehead Harbour, and was given official backing by town councillors.
But now it has said other sites need to be investigated because Culvercliffe had been used for landfill, meaning ‘there are concerns over the structural integrity of the site and therefore on-going site maintenance issues post-construction’.
A spokesperson said: “Over the last month or so we have been discussing alternative options with the town council.
“Due to members of the council being on leave at the moment, we will not have any further updates until the council meeting in September.”
