WATCHET’S first Sunday Street fair of the year got off to a super start last weekend with sunny spring-like weather attracting crowds which brought brisk business to over 40 stallholders, some visiting the event for the first time.

“We couldn’t have wished for a better beginning to the season,” said organiser Molly Quint.

“People really appreciated the great atmosphere and the entertainment, which included a wonderful band fronted by award-winning trumpeter Louis Martelo, which got everyone’s feet tapping.”

Among visitors was local MP Ian Liddell-Grainger, who said that the fair, held on the first Sunday of the month until October had become a valuable attraction, bringing tourists to the town. “The fair goes from strength to strength and is a Watchet tradition not to be missed.”

The wide range of stalls included local meat and produce, garden ornaments, clothes, jewellery, artworks, organic snacks, tea, coffee, street food, cakes and confectionary.
