AS a follow-up to Dementia Awareness Week, Minehead and the Quantocks Rotary Club organised a steam train ride for pupils from local primary schools and adults from local care homes.
The idea was suggested by Chris White, a pupil of West Somerset College, who is volunteering with the Rotary Club as part of his Duke of Edinburgh Gold award.
The pupils had previously been actively engaged with the Archie Project in their schools and this was an opportunity for them to find out more about the those suffering from dementia and those in care.
‘Archie’ was on board and worked tirelessly to keep all engaged during the journey from Watchet to Bishops Lydeard and back.

The Rotarians thanked everyone involved for the effort they put in to make the day a success.
