EXMOOR dog owner Lucy Waldron and Missy, her eight-year-old Australian Kelpie, proved every dog does have its day after walking away with a top prize at Crufts.
Missy was one of more than 21,500 dogs at the NEC in Birmingham for the world's biggest dog show, presented by the Kennel Club.
Lucy and Missy fought off competition from a number of other dogs to win the Kennel Club Large Novice Agility ABC (Anything But a Collie) competition.
And they came second in the overall 'large dog' agility championship - won by a Border Collie.
Eight-year-old Missy, whose Kennel Club name is Exmoor Kangaroo Kid, had two clear rounds and a ten-second advantage over the ABC runner-up.
Lucy, 36, a farmer's daughter from Withycombe who now lives in Washford, trained Missy herself.
"I got her when she was six months and she had a few problems with nerves, aggression and all sorts but she loves her agility and she's great now," she said.
And she added: "Crufts is every dog owner's dream ... of course, we'd love to go back and win again next year!" she said.
This year's Crufts attracted dog lovers from all walks of life, with 45 overseas countries represented throughout the four-day show from March 6 to 9.
