FIGHTING fit Irene Rolfe has retired as a volunteer for Age Concern Somerset - at the age of 80.
Irene has led a weekly flexercise session at The Parks Centre in Minehead as part of the charity's Ageing Well service for the past 14 years, with only holidays or sickness interrupting the schedule.
And although she has decided to step down from running the class for fellow senior citizens, Irene is still a perfect example of the 'ageing well' maxim.
She swims twice a week, goes country dancing twice a month and continues to be a member of the Ramblers Association - although she has stopped going on organised walks with the organisation because of the distance.

Irene's flexercise pupils showed their gratitude for her hard work by giving her a special thank you card, while Age Concern Somerset presented her with a certificate of appreciation and a cake to mark her milestone 80th birthday.
