THE A-ROAD between Wheddon Cross and Timberscombe has reopened following the fatal Minehead school coach collision on Thursday, July 17.
The road has been closed for eight days after a coach carrying pupils and staff on a school trip crashed off the A396 Cutcombe Hill, killing one child and injuring 21 other people.
Somerset Council has said that temporary measures are in place to reopen the road safely until permanent repairs to damage caused by the incident can be completed.
Temporary traffic lights control the traffic around the location of the damage with one lane closed. There is also a temporary speed limit in place of 20 mph on this stretch.
The council has said that the measures will remain in place until further notice.
Police have asked for people not to leave flowers and tributes by the roadside.
