A WILLITON-based bakery equipment business that is celebrating its silver anniversary is on target to donate £20,000 to good causes during the year.

Each month since January, Brook Food Processing Equipment has given £25 for every order it receives of £1000 or more to a different charity or cause.

May was a bumper month when a cheque for £2,250 was presented to the Somerset neonatal intensive care unit based in Musgrove Park Hospital, Taunton.

It was a really personal choice for Brook Food owners Steve and Ann Wells: “The neonatal intensive care unit at Musgrove is a very special place,” said Ann.

“Back in 2014, when Rocco was born seven weeks premature, we discovered this first hand.

“Rocco was in hospital for three weeks and the staff and nurses in the unit offered him the most professional care and us, as worried parents, the most caring reassurance we could have wished for.

“We have wanted to give something back to the unit since our experience and through our 25th anniversary donation plans it seemed like the perfect opportunity.”

Rocco joined his parents to present the cheque to Sue Fulker, the neonatal manager.
