SIR —On Wednesday June 8 Minehead residents will have an opportunity to hear Paul Gibbs, the Acting Faculty Leader, Vocational, at West Somerset College, speak on “Opportunities for our Young People”.

Whether or not there are opportunities here in Minehead within the work of the West Somerset College has been a matter of heated debate locally in recent months.

This will be a chance to hear what the college has to say and to ask questions about the future prospects for local youngsters.

Mr Gibbs is speaking at the Minehead Area Panel meeting which will be held at 6.30pm at The Hub in Hopcott Road, Alcombe.

This meeting is open to all residents of Minehead and Alcombe and also includes an opportunity to learn what is happening with the Minehead Coastal Community Team and the Minehead Development Trust and their future plans, as well as get news from local councils and services.

Matters of great local interest are being considered at the meeting - please come along to hear what is happening, make your comments and ask your questions.
