Plastic-free community groups in West Somerset are holding two winter walks and beach cleans this weekend and are inviting anyone keen to help to go along and join them.

Plastic Free Minehead and Plastic Free Exmoor are leading a walk and litter pick along the beach from Minehead to Dunster and back on Saturday, January 15. Anyone wishing to join the walk should meet outside Channel Adventure on the seafront at 11am. A free hot drink will be provided at the halfway stage courtesy of Dunster Beach Holidays, so participants are asked to take their own thermal mug or flask.

Plastic Free Watchet will be leading a second walk and litter pick on Sunday, January 16. The walk will start at Watchet and go through the town to Helwell Bay and then on to Doniford Beach before returning to the town. Participants should meet at the slipway at West Street Beach, Watchet, at 11am.

Litter pickers and sacks will be provided for both walks but anyone attending will need to take their own gloves and is encouraged to wrap up warm.
