Children in Reception at Cutcombe CofE First School, part of the Moorland Federation, have been enjoying home-made leek and potato soup with vegetables grown in the school garden.
The children helped to harvest the vegetables from the garden before preparing them ready to make the soup in school.
All the children were involved and enjoyed learning about healthy eating, as well how to use peelers and knives safely.
Everyone said the soup was delicious and the children are looking forward to cooking more things from the garden with the help of the after-school gardening club which is set to re-start shortly, having had a break over winter.
The school says it is lucky to have a garden on site where the children can grow their own produce, which is also entered in the village fete in the summer.
