Somerset West and Taunton’s motorists will have five road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

But the news isn’t too bad, with all of them only expected to cause slight delays, of under ten minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

A30, from 8pm July 19, 2021, to 6am April 2, 2022, slight delays (under ten minutes): M5 northbound and southbound, junction 20 to 31 mobile lane closures for general maintenance.

And a further four closures will begin over the next seven days:

• M5, from 8pm February 24 to 6am March 1, slight delays (under ten minutes): M5 southbound, junction 26 lane closures for drainage works.

• A30, from 6pm February 26 to 6am May 2, slight delays (under ten minutes): M5 northbound and southbound, junction 20 to 31 mobile lane closures for drainage works.

• M5, from 7pm February 28 to 4am March 1, slight delays (under ten minutes): M5 northbound, junction 26 to junction 25 closed for carriageway resurfacing works. Diversion via A38.

• M5, from 8pm March 1 to 6am March 9, slight delays (under ten minutes): M5 southbound, junction 26 - 27 lane closures for drainage works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
