FIREFIGHTERS had to remove a car roof to rescue the driver after a car crashed on an accident black spot bend on the A39 outside Bilbrook on Tuesday night.

Minehead and Williton firefighters were called to the crash, which involved only one car. The driver was not thought to be seriously injured. Traffic was diverted through Blue Anchor.

The stretch of road had been recently resurfaced, and the accident prompted ore than 30 posts on social media claiming that three accidents in two weeks implied there were still problems with the road.
