WEST Somerset Railway trains were held back while fire crews tackled a blaze on an embankment at Woolston Lane, Sampford Brett on Friday (June 22).

There were multiple seats of fire along the railway embankment, and a fire engine from Williton was joined by a 4×4 from Minehead.

Minehead signal box ensured all trains were held back while the crew got to work fighting the fire with the use of two hose reel jets. The crew made sure the area was safe before stepping down.
