All ages join Watchet Santa fun run to support war memorial recreation ground charityMembers of the Cleeve Hill Action Group (CHAG) gathered on Sunday (January 9) to pose with the banner close to the proposed building site.
A spokesperson for the group said: “The developers have resubmitted this outrageous and ill-conceived scheme, which includes re-routing the coast road, and we are determined to stop it. It would be environmentally catastrophic for Watchet.”
She added that hundreds of opponents had written to the planning committee citing a wide range of reasons for refusal.
“Building homes on this high profile and geologically unstable site would bring traffic chaos to our narrow streets, danger for drivers and pedestrians, noise, disturbance and overlooking,” she said.
