A MOTORCYCLIST who was in collision with a van on the A358 near Sampford Brett on Tuesday evening has died in hospital.

He was airlifted to hospital in a critical condition after an ambulance, a rescue helicopter and two rapid response vehicles dealt with the casualty. The road was closed at Croft Meadow for several hours, causing severe tailback and delays.

Avon and Somerset police have confirmed the motorcyclist’s death, and ask that anyone who witnessed the accident calls 101 and give the call-handler the reference 307 for July 9.
