A GAS explosion caused structural damage to a property in Withypool on Friday afternoon and the occupant needed medical attention.

Fire engines from South Molton and Porlock and an Environmental Protection Unit from South Molton went to the scene.

Fire crews administered first aid and oxygen therapy to the occupant. 

They used a gas detector, a hose reel jet and a covering jet to make the scene safe.
