A CHIMNEY fire broke out in a property in Over Stowey shortly before 9am yesterday (Sunday March 5) and was attended by a fire crew from Nether Stowey.

The fire in Over Stowey Road was attached to a wood burning stove and was extinguished using chimney gear.

The crew had to make regular checks for hot spots using a thermal imaging camera.
