A BUNGALOW fire in Weacombe Road, West Quantoxhead, in the early hours of yesterday (October 30) was started by an unattended chip pan on a cooker.

Fie engines from Nether Stowey and Minehead went to the scene at 1.11am and found smoke issuing from the building.

Crews used breathing apparatus as they put out the fire using a hose reel jet.

The heavily smoke logged bungalow was ventilated by using a positive pressure ventilation fan.
