A WOMAN was treated for smoke inhalation after a bedroom fire in Lydeard St Lawrence at 8.40am today.

Council taxpayers to be charged average £5 more for Devon & Somerset Fire and RescueDevon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service sent three fire engines – one each from Wiveliscombe, Taunton and Wellington – and an operational assurance officer.
The fire involved a bed in a ground floor bedroom. Everyone at the property was accounted for and crews got to work extinguishing the fire using a hose reel jet and safety jet with two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus.
The fire crews called for an ambulance for the casualty, and the smoke was removed from the property a positive pressure ventilation fan.
