MINEHEAD firefighters were called to Snazaroo’s face-paint factory in Brunel Way on Monday to deal with a blaze involving 400 litres of wax used in face-paint production.

A Devon and Somerset Fire Service spokesman said fire crews encountered intense back smoke issuing from the building and entered with breathing apparatus and an attack jet.

The cause of the fire was accidental and about 25 per cent of the building suffered severe heat, fire and smoke damage, but the firm reported that after a clean-up it would be business as usual.
