FIREFIGHTERS from six stations tackled a blaze which destroyed a large area of elephant grass in a field belonging to Emble Farm, Lydeard St Lawrence, on Saturday.

Two crews from Taunton were joined by firefighters from Wiveliscombe, Wellington Williton, Minehead and Nether Stowey.

No buildings were involved in the blaze, which was finally brought under control later in the day.
