THE owner of a factory in Williton has praised the fire service after eight different crew were called to halt a fire in the early hours of Tuesday this week.
Firefighters from Williton were initially mobilised at 3.15am after an automatic fire alarm sounded at Brook Food Processing Equipment, of Roughmoor, Williton.
Seven further fire engines and support vehicles were then requested.
Ann Wells, co-owner of the company, thanked the fire crews and staff who attended from the area: “We are very grateful,” she said.
“A big thank you ... for their response and the precautions they took to prevent this being a worse situation.
“We had what turned out, luckily, to be a fairly minimal incident in a contained area of our site. The damage was localised and we are so pleased the incident hasn’t caused an injury or concern to any members of our staff.
“We are working with the relevant teams to understand the cause,” she said.
