COASTGUARD Search and Rescue teams from both Watchet and Minehead have been called out to a string of reports of people in distress off the coast.

Several searches were launched for people seen going across beaches towards the water’s edge in the dark, including three young men spotted at Watchet with an inflatable dinghy late at night.

There were incidents in the water at Minehead, Blue Anchor and Watchet harbour entrance.
