A MAN was treated for smoke inhalation after a house in Blue Anchor Road, Carhampton, was severely damaged by fire early this morning (November 9).

Minehead and Williton crews found that a fire in two sheds had spread to a nearby property and used breathing apparatus, hose-reel and safety jets and a thermal imaging camera to deal with the blaze.

Firefighters administered oxygen therapy to the smoke victim. A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue spokesman said the cause of the fire was believed to be accidental.
