THERE were fears that two people were trapped inside a burning bungalow in Minehead early this morning (Sunday) but those fears proved unfounded.

Fire crews from Minehead and Porlock went to the scene with a supporting officer and found the bungalow well alight, with smoke and flames coming from the building.

They had been told it was possible that two people were inside but, after a thorough search of the building, it was confirmed that the people – and animals – were outside and safe.

In extinguishing the well-established fire, the crews, wearing breathing apparatus, used two hose reels, two safety sets, two thermal imaging cameras and a positive pressure ventilation fan.
