MINEHEAD Running Club's Exmoor Stagger Trail Running Race and Fun Run take place on Sunday, starting from the West Somerset Community college.
The Exmoor Stagger, an off-road trail running race, starts at 11 a.m. and more than 300 runners are expected to tackle the tough and hilly 14.4 mile course set almost entirely in the Exmoor National Park.
There will be four water stations, and competitors are warned to dress for the weather - it can be windy and cold on the hill tops even when it is mild down below, and a warm top is a good idea.
Safety cover will be provided by Raynet and St John Ambulance, and all finishers will receive a free commemorative t-shirt.
The Fun Run starts at 11.15 a.m. and follows a new off-road two mile route in the hills around Minehead. It is open to children and adults of any age, although children under the age of seven must be accompanied by a responsible adult. A medal awaits all finishers.
Entries on the day are accepted for both events.
