WIVELISCOMBE are still without a victory in Division Two of the Somerset Cricket League after losing by six wickets away to Weston super Mare on Saturday.
Choosing to bat first, Wiveliscombe scored 177 for five off their 40 overs - a total which did not look challenging enough.
Opener Gareth Bellamy knocked 86, an innings which included 11 boundaries, but he lost partners at regular intervals, although Matthew Redwood was 38 not out at the close.
Weston used seven bowlers, with Jamie Dance being the most successful with 2-19, while there were wickets for Oliver Elliott, Andrew Fear and Johnny Cunningham.
An opening partnership of 107 between Kruz Belcher and Fear set up victory for the seasiders,
Belcher was the first batter to go, caught and bowled by Connor Ashworth, but Fear was still at the crease when Weston reached their target on 71 not out.
Dominic Mayo made 18 before being stumped by Bellamy and Jack Trego was 15 not out as Weston scored the required runs by the 37th over.
Wiveliscombe also used seven bowlers with Ashworth, Henry Welch, Edward Stephens and Elliott Adu Darko snapping up a wicket apiece.
Weston are now second and Wiveliscombe eighth of the nine teams who make up the division.
