WATCHET Town's hopes of avoiding relegation from the Premier Division of the Somerset County League suffered a blow when they crashed 7-0 at home to title-chasers Chilcompton Sports yesterday (Sat).

The only consolation for Watchet on a miserable day was the fact that fellow strugglers Clutton, Ilminster and Stockwood Green also lost.

Meanwhile Minehead gained a 1-1 away draw with Ashton & Backwell United Reserves in the first division - the point taking them back into ninth spot.

Watchet play away to second-placed Wells City Reserves tomorrow (Mon) while Minehead are also away - to Somerton Town who are having a good season.
