MINEHEAD are the early leaders of the first division in the Uhlsport Somerset County Football League after beating neighbours Watchet Town 3-1 at home yesterday.

A crowd of 322 watched the game with Minehead recording their first home win over their rivals since the day they returned to the county league in August, 2015.

Watchet finished with only nine men as Riley Willis and substitute Connor Jeromson received their marching orders, the latter for two bookable offences.

Billy Jones put Watchet ahead in the first half but Minehead hit back with two goals by Stefan Phillips, both from the penalty spot, and Ben Bartlett.
