WEATHER permitting, Minehead play their first competitive match of the season when they visit Taunton Deane 2nd XI in the Premier Division of the Somerset Cricket League today (Sat).

It follows relegation from the Somerset Division of the West of England Cricket League when they finished second from bottom. The Deane also went down with them.

Minehead will again be skippered by Ian Buchanan who has already shown he is in good form by scoring 50 before retiring in a friendly away to Taunton last weekend.

Dan Bowditch is again vice-captain as Minehead begin the task of trying to get back into the West of England League.

Minehead 2nds are home to Yeovil in the Somerset League while Minehead 3rd XI hav a two-week break after their first game against Ashbrittle in the West Somerset League was abandoned.
