Minehead face Ilminster in Somerset Senior Cup clash
MINEHEAD play away to Premier Division outfit Ilminster Town in the first round of the Somerset Senior Cup tomorrow (Sat).
The South Somerset side's form has not been good this season, although they drew 1-1 at home with leaders Mendip Broadwalk last weekend. However, Ilminster have won only one of their seven league games this season.
Minehead, on the other hand, are lying fourth in Division One, having lost only one of their five league games. They are also hoping to have goallkeeper Kyran Wilkins back in the side after he missed last weekend's 2-0 home victory over Nailsea and Tickenham Reserves.
Watchet Town are away to Burnham United who are lying second in Division One of the Uhlsport Somerset County League with four wins and two losses. Watchet beat Burnham 1-0 at home in the League KO Cup towards the end of last month with Aaron Deeks netting the all-important winner.
Watchet should be strengthened by the return of skipper Eben Harding, Brandon Walsh and Fin Landon, but Connor Jeromson and Deeks are missing.
Watchet won 3-1 at home to Stockwood Green last weekend to record only their second win of the season. It was a game between two sides struggling to find some form although it was not helped by the windy conditions. Watchet are still having difficulties in fielding a settled side.
There is a full programme of matches in the Taunton, Somerset Sunday and Taunton Youth Leagues this weekend with plenty of football in the Somerset Women's and Girls Leagues.
