MINEHEAD Barbarians take their two senior teams to Wells this weekend for their last league games of the season.

The first team will be chasing a double in Counties Two Somerset, having won 42-17 at the beginning of the season. It was the start of a big run of home wins for the Babas who have struggled with injuries and unavailability for the past three months. Minehead are currently sixth in the table.

Minehead 2nd XV will also be chasing a double against their Wells’ counterparts in Counties Four Somerset South, having beaten them 74-15 in early September.

Minehead's head coach Mick Orton has already announced he will be staying on next season and he said: "The future is encouraging for the club. We have talent coming through and we're making progress. The players at the moment are really making the club proud.

"I want to develop the coaching side of the club and anyone interested in this can get in touch with me (07850 962137).”
