MINEHEAD pulled off a 2-0 victory over their neighbours Wellington in a pre-season friendly at Irnham Road last night (Wed).

Despite the rain, the game provided a good workout for both sides.

Minehead won the match with a goal in each half - Guy Burns netting in the 35th minute and Ollie Prescott in the 65th minute, his effort taking a wicked deflection.

Minehead's side included two players with Wellington last season - Stef Phllips and Tom Davies.

Defeat means Wellington go into their opening game of the season at Helston on Saturday in the Toolstation League without winning any of their pre-season games.
