MINEHEAD Barbarians Under 13s produced a dominant performance to secure a 35–15 victory over North Petherton.

Strong attacking phases, powerful running, and committed defence were the trademarks of an impressive team display. Oscar Cox opened the scoring cutting through several defenders with a determined run to touch down. George Tucker then powered over the line from a classic pick-and-go, extending MBRFC’s lead with smart forward play.

Moments later, Tucker was instrumental again. Breaking through the line, he created the platform for Lewis Zeitzen to sprint through and score MBRFC’s third try of the half.

North Petherton hit back with a well-worked try of their own, but MBRFC’s defensive line held firm with standout efforts from Andrew Ayliffe and Dylan Paige, whose tackling and work rate repeatedly stalled the home teams attacks.

Minehead struck early after the restart, with Lewis Zeitzen bagging his second try of the match following more sustained pressure. Huge defensive shifts from Daniel Van Wyk and Jacob Coles kept North Petherton at bay, setting the tone for the half.

The home side added further scoreboard pressure when Harry Parfitt crossed the line, capping off a strong attacking sequence.

Throughout the second half, Oliver Bishop delivered an exceptional performance, combining big tackles with powerful carries that swung momentum in MBRFC’s favour time after time. It was a great team effort,, with the home side playing some great rugby.
