MINEHEAD clinched the championship in the Premier Division of the Somerset Cricket League after beating title rivals Long Sutton by three wickets at home yesterday (Sat).
They finished 22 points clear of Long Sutton, who are also promoted to the West of England Premier League, with Bridgwater two points further adrift.
Long Sutton, put into bat, were bowled out for 199, losing their last seven wickets for only 16 runs.
Brandon Rawle snapped up 4-14, Ian Buchanan 2-23 and Harry Tudball 2-39.
Minehead knocked off the runs for the loss of seven wickets, with Archie Marsh top scoring with 54 not out and Buchanan knocking 42.
