MINEHEAD Hockey Club's full complement of teams are back in action this coming Saturday, November 8, as the various Regional League competitions restart after the half term break. The Ladies 1's have a tough journey away to second-place Bridgwater 1's who gave runaway league leaders Exeter Uni Ladies a run for the money recently. If Minehead can get a strong team out and play with their characteristic never-give-up attitude and positivity that lasts all match, they have every chance of pulling off a surprise result. The Men's 1's are hosting Bridgwater 2's in a top-of-the table clash. Minehead are sitting in joint second place, three points behind the visitors who, while they have a massively superior goal difference, would be stung if they have to share top spot with the Seasiders so early in the campaign. The 2's are away to Culm Valley Hornets looking to climb up from their current third place in the League, and the 3's travel to Old Bristolians 5's, keen to improve on their current fifth place in the League. Ladies’ training will still be taking place on Tuesday evening at West Somerset Sports Centre from 7pm and Men’s training is at 7.30pm on Wednesday, this week enhanced by a Butlins Fireworks spectacular!

Meanwhile Minehead Ladies enjoyed a short-notice friendly fixture away to Bridgwater 3’s on Sunday, travelling with a team made up of regular and some newer players who were keen for match-play experience.

The whole team put in a solid performance and came away with a comfortable 4-2 victory.

Preparations are also underway for the pre-Christmas charity quiz at Minehead Social Club on Friday, November 28 - teams of six are welcome to join the evening of fun, all in a good cause.
