AS the Ladies Section moves to ‘Winter Golf,’ Minehead & West Somerset Club saw the final of the Luttrell Greensomes knockout competition which has been running over the summer.

This is when you play as a team of two. You are drawn for your partner. In Greensomes you both drive, then take the best drive and play alternate shots after that.

In this competition each competitor must use six of their drives on the first 12 holes. In lovely autumnal conditions Hazel Binding and Kay Luckett had to give one shot to Annette O’Hare and Pat Lucas; but still beat them convincingly. Well done to them.

Thursday bought inclement weather, so the Winter Cup competition was postponed until December.

The following Thursday it was possible to play the RNLI Stableford Qualifier. Division 1 was won by Deano Carlin (11) on 33 points; Division 2 by Jennifer James (30) on 35 points.
