WATCHET Town Blue Waves will be back in action after their enforced Lockdown break when they play first division outfit Hamilton in the Keyline Somerset Sunday Football League’s Gardner Cup this weekend.

The tie will be played at The Castle School Sports Centre in Taunton and will be one of two ties played at the same venue.

Blue Waves are currently top of Division Two, having dropped only two points from their opening seven games, while Hamilton are third in Division One, one point behind Wellington leaders Moortown with a game in hand.

Blue Waves manager Mark Allen said: “We as a team are still on a high even with the lengthy break we’ve had to endure.

“Luckily for my team we have plenty of talent and will be going into this game ready to give Hamilton a game with the hopes of a win. Being led by my team’s captain Charley Clausen, I’m very confident we can win.

“The players are well rested with no injuries to worry about.”

One big boost for Blue Waves is the return of prolific striker Jamie Milton to the team. With Billy Jones next to him, this game is sure to have goals.

Milton now lives away from the area and is not always available to play for the Watchet side.
