THIS season has seen nine boys from Dunster Dragons Under 13s football team attend weekly training with Exeter City’s development squad.

And now, three of them have secured a six-week trial with the club’s youth academy.

The nine are Sam Heath, Charlie Howell, Jameson Brannigan, Lochlan Ruston, Cy Villenueva, Tyler Collings, Todd Turner, Chris Barratt and Oscar Binnie.

And Sam, Cy and Oscar have been offered the academy trial, while defender Todd is already playing football at district level.

Dragons manager Brian Binnie, who only set the club up last season, said: “Here at Dunster Dragons our aim is to develop our players, giving them the best possible coaching.

“We are constantly on the lookout for opportunities for our boys to put them in the right place to obtain better coaching, to progress their skills and be in with a chance for trials and playing further afield.

“We are so proud of all our boys and what they have achieved in such a short space of time.

“Hopefully we can build on this success and bring on other developing players in the squad in the coming months and years.”
