WATCHET won their fourth away game of the season with a 103-run success at Ilminster.

Batting first, they made a solid start with openers Matt Lovell and Martin Strong each scoring 21, but Ilminster fought back and Watchet slipped to 94-5.

An excellent sixth-wicket stand of 75 between Ian Lowe and Josh Townsend then took them to an above-par total of 169-6 on a slow batting track.

Lowe finished unbeaten on 63 - his first half-century of the season - and Townsend was caught off the last ball of the innings for an impressive 29.

In reply, Dominic Bowden and Ryan Dellow took early wickets as Ilminster slumped to 31-3 off 18 overs.

Lovell and Connor Patterson then continued the visitors’ domination with two good spells, Lovell finishing with 4-14 from nine overs and Patterson 3-0 from six as Ilminster were bowled out for just 66.
